The PowerWize BMI Connector family now offers vertical headers to meet customer needs for compact solutions. Vertical headers enhance connector accessibility during assembly and maintenance due to the ease of mating and un-mating, which saves time. For greater design flexibility, PowerWize BMI vertical headers also allow for diverse configuration options in devices.
PowerWize Blind-Mate Interface (BMI) Connectors incorporate Molex’s COEUR socket technology, transmitting high current-carrying capacity through right-angle and vertical headers. Available in three sizes—3.40mm (75.0A), 6.00mm (110.0A) and 8.00mm (185.0A)—the blind-mating design helps ensure proper connections in hard-to-reach and visually obscured spaces.

The right-angle and vertical headers are pin-in-paste SMT reflow capable, providing processing flexibility and are touch-proof per UL 60950 to prevent electrical shock if handled while energized. These connectors also feature low-halogen-compliant housings that meet evolving environmental and legislative trends.

Compared with other I/O product families, Mini Cool Edge (MCIO) connectors and cable assemblies offer increased flexibility by providing multiple circuit options. MCIO connectors and cables were designed specially to be used across many applications. They meet PCIe standards up to PCIe Generation 6 with high-speed data transmission rates. Reliable product quality enables high-volume purchasing for enterprise servers or storage data center customers that expect to transmit data to external device systems across a multitude of protocols.

MCIO anti-slant design and contact protection with optional pull-tab design ensures high-quality signal integrity performance. Customized loose pair and ribbon cables and pin definition are available. They support both cable and edge card applications with one common connector that is available from multiple sources. The Pico-Lock Wire-to-Board Connector System is ideal for applications requiring ultra-low profile, high-current and secure locking. Notebook and Tablet PCs with large graphic displays continue to get thinner in design and more powerful in functionality. This combination has created a need for a new style of connector that offers a very low profile, high current-carrying capability and a robust positive lock to maintain connection even when subjected to shock or vibration. The Pico-Lock system is the first miniature wire-to-board connector system to combine all these features to meet these needs.
